What We Are

Cars for Kids is a five-week construction outreach program that introduces middle school students to high school construction pathways by teaching basic tool safety, building skills, and problem-solving while they create custom miniature cars. The program ends with a Race Day where the cars are showcased and raced, while raising awareness and support for teens battling pediatric cancer.

Why We Do It

Our service addresses several challenges in our community by helping middle school students transition into high school CTE pathways through early exposure to construction pathways and hands-on learning. Most importantly, our mission is to raise awareness and support for teens battling pediatric cancer while encouraging empathy and community service in younger generations.

Who We Are

We are three students from Kids Helping Kids Sacramento and the creators of Cars for Kids, a program inspired by our experiences in the construction and CTE pathways at Del Campo High School. As seniors who have seen first hand how impactful these programs are, we created Cars for Kids to introduce younger students to these opportunities while supporting teens battling pediatric cancer.
